Burton Albion could be set to complete the signing of Northern Ireland international Liam Boyce, according to the Burton Mail, via the Mirror.
The 26-year-old striker has a release clause in his contract at Ross County – believed to be £500,000 – and now Brewers manager Nigel Clough could make a swoop for the highly rated forward.
Boyce banged in well over 20 goals for Ross County last season, and this form has shot him into the limelight and captured the attention of a host of clubs, with Burton now leading the race to seal his signature.
Burton stayed up against all odds last season, and manager Clough will be keen to add some further quality to his squad as he once again looks to keep the Brewers in the second tier following their historic promotion from League One 12 months ago.
Clough has a history of delving into the Scottish market with both Derby County and Sheffield United, and the signing of Boyce could well be an excellent move if he can complete a deal for the forward.
Burton fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
