Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett is still looking at what strikers will be in pole position at the start of the season.

Sheffield United arrive in Burton for a pre-season friendly and manager Rowett is to look at all strikers and who fits with who before the season starts.

The Brewers play Ilkeston and were defeated 1-0 on Tuesday. Four strikers made an appearance. New signing Stuart Beavon played alongside Adam McGurk and Dominic Knowles played alongside Dutch trialist Thomas Verheydt in the second half.

The Burton boss is still looking at Verheydt about a possible switch to England. Talking to the Burton Mail ”We know Billy, Adam and Dominic can all play with each other but we want to see how others will fare. The first half probably suited the second half paring more (Verheydt and Knowles).

But we want to see how Adam plays with big Thomas and probably Dominic with Stuart (Beavon) and then bring Billy into that as well.”
