Former Scunthorpe United midfielder Mark Duffy has impressed at Burton after joining on loan from Birmingham City

Mark Duffy, Remi Matthews and Zeli Ismail are all on short term loan deals and the former Chelsea striker is keen for all three of them to extend their deals.

Duffy has been the most impressive out of trio after joining from Championship side Birmingham City, and has been an ever-present in League One for the Brewers, in which time he netted the winner in their 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town back in August.

Matthews and Ismail, on loan from Norwich City and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively, have not played many games for the Brewers, but they have impressed the Dutchman enough for him to consider extending their loan deals, and thus bolstering his promotion-chasing squad.

The Burton boss told the Derby Telegraph: 'We would like to extend Duffy's loan and the others as well. But it's a bit too early. We want to keep all the players we have on loan. We don't want to send any back.'

All three have clearly impressed Hasselbaink enough for him to extend their loan deals as they look to build on their terrific start to the season.

They currently sit third in League One, following a 2-0 win over Port Vale this afternoon - a first win in four matches. Duffy started, but was replaced by Callum Butcher eight minutes from time.
