League two side Burton Albion have completed the signing of former Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap on a one-year contract.

The 37-year old's contract was not renewed by Stoke in the summer and he was allowed to leave on a free transfer. The midfielder notorious for his exceptional ability at throw-ins has been involved with Burton Albion's pre-season set up, having already played in two pre-season friendlies for the Brewers.

Delap said: ‘The Manager invited me down to the club for pre-season and having been involved for just over a week I’m delighted to sign permanently. ‘From what I’ve seen in a short space of time the club is well run and geared for playing in a higher league and I know that’s something the players all buy into as well. I’m looking forward to getting started.’
