Burton Albion plotting deadline day swoop for Nottingham Forest midfielder

Championship side Burton Albion have made a deadline day swoop to sign Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Ward, according to Sun reporter Alan Nixon.

The 30-year-old made the controversial decision to join Nottingham Forest last year off the back of his release from Derby, and in a late flurry of Forest related activity he could be another set to leave the club.

Burton have made a number of signings already this summer and will hope the make Ward the 13th to come through the door.

Ward has made 31 appearances during his short stay at the City Ground, netting two goals. He can play up front but is usually deployed on the wings.

Nigel Clough will hope to have put the final touches to his plucky Burton side, who are the heavy favourites to go down this season despite an excellent start to the season, including a win against local rivals Derby County.

Forest fans… What do you make of this move? Should Ward leave? Is there still room for him in your squad? Let us know in the comments below!
