Burton Albion continue to punch above their weight in the EFL Championship and the fans who have seen them rise from non-league really are living the dream.

The Brewers haven't had a magnificent start to the 2017/18 campaign by any stretch of the imagination but they do sit outside the drop zone and in Nigel Clough they have a manager who knows how to grind out results in the second tier.

After splashing out a club record fee on striker Liam Boyce during the summer, the club were then rocked when the Northern Irishman went and suffered a season ending knee injury in one of his first outings for the club during a pre-season friendly.

The 26-year-old was signed to score the goals which would fire the Brewers to safety for the second successive campaign and his injury could lead to Clough trying to pursue the signing of another talisman during the January transfer window.

One man who could be an ideal signing for the club is Mansfield Town talisman Danny Rose, with the striker currently in blistering form for the League Two side.

Rose is still only 23-years-old and his signing would represent a solid arrival for Burton Albion who would hope that he could continue his goalscoring form in the second tier.

Steve Evans is wanting to build a project at Mansfield and it would be unlikely that he would be keen to sell one his prized assets, but as with most deals in modern day football, money can certainly talk.

Clough has been known to scour the lower leagues for the very best talents during his entire managerial career and if he pursues the signing of Rose it could be his best deal to date.

Burton Albion fans, would you welcome Danny Rose to the football club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
