Burnley’s first campaign back in the Championship will begin with an away trip against Huddersfield Town.

The Clarets’ season will kick-off on July 29 as Vincent Kompany’s side begin their attempt to earn promotion straight back into the Premier League.

This will be Kompany’s first competitive game in charge, with the Turf Moor faithful now looking forward to an opening game at home to Luton Town.

It will likely be a big season of change for Burnley, and their first five opponents of the new era will come against the likes of Huddersfield, Luton, Watford, Hull City and Blackpool.

The clash most fans will be immediately checking is for when Kompany’s side will face their heated rivals Blackburn Rovers, with the games currently pencilled in for November 12 and March 18.

The second division campaign will pause following Round 16 of games on November 12 before restarting for Round 17 on December 10.

This will be due to the winter World Cup in Qatar.
