Burnley striker Andre Gray has revealed that his home debut against Sheffield Wednesday was a dream after scoring and claiming an assist.
Gray marked his first appearance in front of his new fans by scoring his side’s third and final goal, as well as setting up Matty Taylor for the second.
Sean Dyche’s men ran out 3-1 winners over Sheffield Wednesday as they climbed into the play-off places as they look to bounce straight back to the Premier League.
Gray, a £9m signing for the Clarets, said to the official Burnley website: “it’s a dream come true really. Every striker wants to make their debut and score a goal, but to get an assist as well and most importantly a win was great.”
He scored 18 goals in 47 games in the Championship for Brentford and Burnley fans will hope that he can replicate that form this season as they look to replace the goals from Danny Ings, who moved to Liverpool this summer.
The Clarets currently sit in fifth spot in the Sky Bet Championship, after an impressive start to their league campaign, which has seen them win three times, draw twice and lose once.
