Burnley are set to make a fresh approach for Middlesbrough defender Dael Fry according to the Northern Echo.
The Clarets have previously been interested in signing the England Under-21 international, but they’re readying another bid for the central defender in the near future it seems with The Sun claiming that a bid in the region of £10m is set to be made.
The report from the Northern Echo also claims that Boro are keen for any potential deal to include Ben Gibson returning to the Riverside.
Gibson has struggled for game time in this year’s campaign with Sean Dyche’s men, with the 27-year-old only making one appearance in total this term.
It is thought that Jonathan Woodgate isn’t willing to sanction any deal for Fry this month, with Middlesbrough struggling for depth in defence at the moment.
Both Ryan Shotton and Daniel Ayala are sidelined through injury, which leaves the Boro boss light in the defensive department as they look to fire themselves up the Championship table.
Middlesbrough have shown real improvement in recent weeks and now find themselves 17th in the second tier standings which will be pleasing to see after a slow start to the season.
Fry and his Boro team-mates are next in action on Tuesday when they take on Birmingham City, in what could potentially be a tricky test for Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough will be wanting Gibson included in any potential deal for Dael Fry.
Fry has been hugely impressive this season, and it’s no surprise to see him being linked with a move to the Premier League this month, as I think he’s good enough to make the step up to the top-flight.
Middlesbrough need to keep hold of Fry though, as he strikes me as the sort of player that Woodgate should be building his team around for future seasons.
