Burnley may be about to receive a record £10 million tribunal fee from Liverpool for striker Danny Ings, according to the Daily Mail.
After impressing for Burnley in their season in the top flight, Ings moved to the Premier League giants after his contract expired, but the two clubs were unable to agree a fee for him.
The Clarets are expected to use Mauricio Pochettino’s interest in the trial in order to receive a record sum from the Merseysiders.
Although the case has gone to trial, both clubs can still negotiate the fee with the hierarchy at Liverpool hoping to bring Burnley down to a seven figure fee.
Sean Dyche’s Burnley will undoubtedly welcome this potential cash windfall, as it will allow them to further strengthen their squad in January, to help enhance their chances of an immediate return to the Premier League.
The Clarets currently sit in fifth place in the Sky Bet Championship, having amassed 33 points from 17 league games this season, and they look on course to achieve a finish in the higher echelons of the division.
