Burnley are looking to boost their squad ahead of a European campaign next season and have identified Bristol City's Joe Bryan as a key target.

According to the Telegraph, Sean Dyche is readying a £6m move for the left-sided player who has had an outstanding season for the Robins.

Bryan has been a key member of the Bristol City squad and is capable of playing as a left-back or left-midfielder and that versatility will appeal to Dyche, who has been guaranteed financial backing from the Burnley board.

As well as that, the 24-year old demonstrated his ability against elite Premier League clubs in the Robins remarkable Carabao Cup run.

Bryan scored a stunning goal as Lee Johnson's men beat Manchester United whilst he was also very impressive as they ran Manchester City close in the semi-final.

He has also shown his ability in front of goal in the Championship, netting six times although it wasn't enough for the team to make the play-offs.

A poor 2018 means Bristol City can't make the top six as we head into the final match of the season.

The Verdict

It's going to be a tough summer for Bristol City with several players attracting interest from Premier League clubs and it's no surprise to see Bryan is one.

He has had a fine season and caught the eye, so serious interest was inevitable.

A move to Burnley, and playing in Europe, is going to appeal to the player and the Robins may struggle to keep him. For them, it's about getting the best fee possible and they should expect more than the £6m mentioned.
