Burnley are still waiting on news of Andre Gray’s injury suffered in their 0-0 draw with Derby County last night, Sky Sports reports.
The 24-year-old, who signed for the Clarets for in the last few days of the summer transfer window, is now believed to be a major doubt for Burnley’s game against Reading this Saturday.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is hopeful that the hamstring injury sustained is not going to keep his star forward out for long.
He told Sky Sports: ”We’ll have to wait and see. It looks like a minor hamstring but certainly the way he was moving I’m hopeful it’s only a minor one, rather than a serious one.”
Losing Gray for a significant amount of time this early on after recently signing for the club would be a massive blow for Sean Dyche and his side.
Gray has already notched his first goal in their game against Sheffield Wednesday last week as well as having two assists to his name.
Keeping the former Brentford striker fit could determine how well the Clarets do this season, with the striker certainly capable of firing them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Burnley currently sit in third place in the Sky Bet Championship after a strong start to the 2015/16 campaign, which has seen them win four times, draw three times and lose once.
