The transfer window for League One and League Two clubs goes on until Monday next week and in that time we could well see a flurry of activity.

Whilst the Championship decided to shut up shop at the same time as the Premier League, the third and fourth tiers have remained open for business as we head towards September.

It looks as though League One sides Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley are going to battle it out for young Burnley defender Jimmy Dunne, too, judging by Alan Nixon's tweet on the situation:

The young defender spent a loan spell at Sunderland last season and so will be familiar with the workings of a team in League One.

With both Accrington and Fleetwood local to Burnley - the former in particular - too, either move could work nicely for Dunne as he won't face much in the way of upheaval.

It remains to be seen which side, though, proves successful in this chase.

The Verdict

Dunne is a good young player but needs the minutes to truly reach his full potential.

Burnley have strong options in his position and so a move to a side like Fleetwood or Accrington would make perfect sense.

There's a good case for either side to be the right move for him, too, and it's now up to him to decide where exactly he'd like to go.
