FLW understands that Sean Dyche’s Burnley are monitoring Leeds United’s 19-year-old midfielder Alex Mowatt, and are considering making a move in January.
As reported on FLW earlier this month, Everton and Aston Villa are also targeting a move for the highly-rated Leeds midfielder who has proved to be a revelation for the Whites this season.
Mowatt has amassed over 40 appearances for the Yorkshire club and has become a regular starter under new manager Neil Redfearn. A string of superb performances have seen him attract interest from teams from the top-flight.
It is uncertain as to whether Leeds head-coach Neil Redfearn will let the promising youngster leave the Elland Road outfit, however if the right fee was presented a move could potentially materialise.
Burnley currently lie rock bottom of the Barclays Premier League and are in need of an added element of creativity, and according to FLW sources, Sean Dyche is eyeing a move for the Leeds United midfielder.
Leeds United will no doubt demand a large transfer fee for one of their best young talents at the club, and it remains to be seen whether Burnley will be able to muster up the right fee.
The Sky Bet Championship outfit have seen a wealth of youngsters start in the first-team this year, most notably Alex Mowatt, Lewis Cook and Sam Byram.
