Burnley eyeing move for Brentford defender

Burnley have identified Brentford defender James Tarkowski as one of their top targets going into the January transfer window, according to HITC.

The 23-year-old has played twenty-one times for the Bees this season and he has been incredibly impressive since he joined the club in January 2014.

The Clarets are looking to secure an instant return to the Premier League and they currently find themselves fifth in the Championship but Sean Dyche is keen to add some players to his squad to ensure that they achieve promotion.

The Burnley boss wants a new centre-back to provide competition for the likes of Michael Keane and Michael Duff, and Tarkowski would present him with a quality option.

Burnley find themselves fifth in the Championship after collecting 41 points this season while Brentford find themselves in eighth just four points behind the Clarets.

Burnley and Brentford fans…What do you make of the news? Would Tarkowski be a good signing for Burnley? Can Brentford afford to lose the centre-back? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
