Burnley and Stoke City have joined the race to sign Sheffield United defender Rhys Norrington-Davies, according to Football Insider.

Norrington-Davies is believed to be a player in demand, with West Bromwich Albion also recently been linked with a move for the Wales international.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Luton Town, after leaving Bramall Lane in search of regular game time in September.

Where was James Collins born?

The defender spent time on loan with Barrow in 2018/19 and with Rochdale in 2019/20, and he has made nine appearances for Nathan Jones’ side this term.

The full-back is yet to make a first-team appearances for the Blades since coming through the ranks at Sheffield United, and a permanent move away could be on the cards in January.

According to Football Insider, Burnley and Stoke now have Norrington-Davies on their radar, with both sides eyeing up the defender ahead of January.

The Verdict

You have to think about Norrington-Davies’ future at Bramall Lane and whether he’s likely to get any game time in the near future.

Enda Stevens is a quality player, and Norrington-Davies will have to work extremely hard to break into the side ahead of the Irishman.

He is clearly catching the eye after a number of impressive performances for the Hatters, and it’s no wonder that some big sides are now chasing his signature.

It would be a coup for Stoke to sign him, given that two Premier League sides are also after his signature.
