Bradford City benefitted from Leeds United's loan scheme by landing the service of Bryce Hosannah earlier in 2020.

Leeds have trusted their local rivals with the right-back's development, as he looks to build up senior experience and convince his parent-club that he's got enough about him to forge a future at Elland Road.

How's he getting on?

Stuart McCall's side are on an up-and-down ride in League Two at the moment, but Hosannah has been pretty consistent when he's played.

The 21-year-old has made five appearances in League Two for the Bantams, whilst he's also featured in the Papa John's Trophy and FA Cup.

Bradford have used the youngster down the right-side of their team, with Hosannah playing in a familiar right-back role, but also offered freedom to move onto the right-wing and showcase his attacking talent.

Injury is currently sidelining him at the moment, with hamstring trouble meaning he's missed out on the last three games.

Has he got a Leeds future?

A new contract with Leeds earlier this month appears to indicate that the Elland Road club hope so. Hosannah is now tied down to the summer of 2022.

However, it isn't straightforward by any stretch of the imagination for Hosannah to break into the first-team between now and 2022.

In Luke Ayling, you've got a senior right-back in his prime, whilst Stuart Dallas is always the alternative in the first-team. Additionally, Leeds swooped for Cody Drameh in the summer, bringing the England youth international in from Fulham to play in their under-23s.

That move did pave the way for Hosannah to move out on loan, but has it shut the door on him at Elland Road?

Maybe, but this is where the versatility of the 21-year-old comes in.

Quiz: Do these celebrities support Huddersfield, Leeds United, Barnsley or Bradford City?

He's showing at Bradford that he can play at right-back and on the right of midfield, whilst his Premier League 2 appearances for Leeds prior to his loan move came at centre-back.

We know how much Marcelo Bielsa likes players with versatility like this - Ayling and Dallas are similar in that respect and real favourites - so Hosannah has a chance.

The versatility is there, Leeds just need Bradford to give him the platform to showcase it at senior level.
