Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce watched his side make it three straight consecutive wins and credited changes in personnel and attitude for the upturn in fortunes at Villa Park, according to the club's official website

An Albert Adomah double secured a 2-0 home win over Ipswich Town on Saturday and Bruce was full of praise for the winger at full time.

He said: "He’s had a wonderful run. At the start because of the form of Andre Green, he wasn’t in the team. He’s worked hard and got his reward. He’s a threat and he’s got a great return. Long may it continue, there’s no reason why he can’t set his sights on another ten goals.

"It's been doom and gloom for too long here, and still was a year ago. Thankfully over the last few months there's been a change in personnel and attitude.

"That filters through to the supporters and it slowly feels like we're turning it around. There's still a lot of work to do but it's the best place we've been in for a while.

"It's been a great week. It was a comfortable afternoon and we did enough, without being swashbuckling to get the three points, which is the most important thing. It's been a good week, a good November.

"Let's continue throughout December, which is a massive time for every club."

The Verdict:

Bruce knows the importance of momentum in promotion campaigns - he's got enough teams promoted from the second tier - and will know that he has turned the huge club that is Villa around and has it slowly chugging away in the right direction now.

They look solid at home and can hurt teams in a variety of ways. I still worry about their away form but the improved atmosphere around the club means that defeats will no longer be treated like disasters.

Adomah is in the form of his life and Bruce has to take a lot of credit for that. I watched a fair bit of him when he was a Middlesbrough player and he never looked like he had this many goals in him. Switching him to the left has been a masterstroke.
