Speaking to Aston Villa’s official Twitter account, Steve Bruce has admitted he is expecting a tough task when Ian Holloway’s QPR visit Villa Park this evening.

Villa enter the game in terrific form, having won six of their last seven Sky Bet Championship fixtures, conceding just one goal.

That run of results has lifted Villa from the brink of the relegation zone to 11th in the Championship table, and has given Bruce’s side an outside chance of breaking into the top-six.

Holloway’s side are also in a good spell of form, having won five from their last eight fixtures and Bruce is expecting the Hoops to offer a stern test, he said:

“QPR are a very decent team. They will be a tough nut to crack. But we’re playing well at the moment.”

Despite being two of the Championship’s form teams, Villa and QPR suffered contrasting fortunes in their last league outings.

Villa recorded a 2-0 victory over Norwich City thanks to a brace from Jonathan Kodjia, while QPR suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Derby County on Friday evening.
