Aston Villa fans were notably not happy with Conor Hourihane's performance after the Leeds match last Friday on social media.

The Irishman has struggled for consistency at Villa Park, and needs to be producing top performances week in, week out, to ensure he maintains his starting berth.

With the former Barnsley man in poor form at present, is it time Bruce dropped him?

We take a look....

Alfie Burns

Bruce needs to get him out of the firing line, as another bad performance will see him earn more criticism.

Hourihane has been good so far this season, but at Elland Road on Friday, he looked a liability, with Leeds’ midfield too much for him.

I’d be extremely surprised to see him retain his place in the starting XI.

Adam Simeoni

The former Barnsley man would be perhaps the first name on the team sheet, if his consistency were to improve.

He needs to score goals on a regular basis if he is to endear himself to the Villa crowd, and this is something he has failed to do recently.

George Dagless

It could be.

He was the star of the show at the start of the season but there's a growing sense amongst the fans he needs to be benched.

He's played a lot of games in the middle of the park and it could just be that he needs a rest to then go again.

Chris Gallagher

Yes, without a doubt.

The ex-Barnsley man hasn't scored since September and his other goals came in August. If he's not contributing in the final third, then what does he do?

I understand he plays in a deep position, but I'm not sure he is cut out for it. At Oakwell he was involved in everything and drove the team on, at Villa he seems to be taking the simple options too often.

Replace him with Lansbury, or push Onomah back to bring Grealish in, either way, the Irishman should be dropped.
