Aston Villa have been missing key players Albert Adomah and Jack Grealish for the last two matches.

Injury has sidelined the pair for the games against Fulham and Preston North End, which have seen Villa's winning run come to an end as they dropped five points.

They have struggled for goal threat since the duo have been missing as Bruce has been forced to alter the settled team and the formula that was clearly working when they won seven on the spin to propel themselves up to second in the league.

Bruce takes his side to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and although it is not a positive update on the missing pair, there is good news about the fitness of Robert Snodgrass, on whom the creative burden has intensified.

The Verdict

The longer Grealish and Adomah are out for, the tougher it will be for Villa to get back on form.

Bruce had settled on a formation and personnel that was working before injury derailed his plans and you can tell he's struggling to find another one now he's had to alter his plans.

I fancy him to get it right and I wouldn't bet against them getting back on track tomorrow but with the promotion race intensifying, he needs to get it right quickly.
