Steve Bruce has confirmed Aston Villa will be without six first-team players for this weekend’s clash with Brighton and Hove Albion, which will be a huge boost for the Seagulls as they go in search of the Sky Bet Championship title.

Brighton head to Villa Park needing victory to secure the Championship title, and Bruce’s update on Villa’s injury situation will delight the Seagulls.

Jonathan Kodjia will be absent with a broken ankle, which could potentially rule him out of the start of next season, whilst Mile Jedinak, Gabby Agbonlahor, Alan Hutton, Andre Green and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy will also be missing.

Bruce will be hopeful his side can produce a positive performance against the title-chasing Seagulls, and finish a disappointing campaign on a positive note.

Villa lost 1-0 to Blackburn Rovers last weekend, but picked up three-points in their last fixture at Villa Park, when they defeated Birmingham City.
