After yet another defeat this weekend, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce seriously needs to consider changing some personnel in his starting line-up.

The Villains were defeated 1-0 by Ipswich Town courtesy of a late Emyr Huws goal.

This leaves Aston Villa without a win in 2017 and with just 1 point in their last 7 games.

They have plummeted from a promising mid-table position from which they could make a late surge for the play-offs to potentially dropping into a relegation battle, despite heavy spending in the summer and again in January.

Simply put, certain players are just not living up to expectations.

Steve Bruce will need to run the rule over his starting squad and think of how to shake things up and get his team winning matches again.

Tomorrow's clash with Barnsley will be a huge test and Bruce should seriously consider dropping at least one of these two players after their lacklustre recent performances.

Sam Johnstone

Sam Johnstone has been absolutely terrible since making a loan switch from Manchester United.

He was meant to solidify the defence but he has arguably been more error-prone than Gollini.

The 23-year-old should be dropped to the bench and replaced by Mark Bunn.

Neil Taylor

Neil Taylor was somehow selected ahead of Jordan Amavi at left wing back and Villa fans are not impressed.

The Wales international simply does not have the attacking prowess that Amavi possesses and he is suspect in defence.

Bruce needs to bring Amavi back into the starting XI at the expense of Taylor for tomorrow.
