‘Brought so much confidence’ – Many QPR fans react to 31-year-old’s display in Luton Town victory

Charlie Austin enjoyed a dream return to QPR after scoring in their victory over Luton Town on Tuesday evening.
Almost exactly five years after leaving Rangers for Southampton, Austin secured a move back to Loftus Road from West Brom on loan for the rest of the season on Saturday.
And less than four days after completing his return, the striker showed he hasn’t lost any of his goalscoring instincts, despite his frustrating spell with West Brom, by nodding home a first-half opener to set Mark Warburton’s men on their way to three crucial points against the Hatters.

Macauley Bonne’s late strike sealed a massive victory for the West London outfit, who moved up to 19th in the standings, but more importantly, five points clear of relegation.
But the evening belonged to Austin, whose next goal will be his 50th in QPR colours, and he’ll be hoping that will come when the R’s host bottom of the Championship Wycombe in another huge game at Loftus Road this weekend.
Austin is already an extremely popular figure with the Rangers faithful, and here’s they many reacted on Twitter to his goalscoring performance at Kenilworth Road yesterday:
The 3 strikers today was all fantastic. Austin goal bonne goal and for me dykes was m.o.m what a performance held the ball up ran his socks off tackled won every header. Best team performance for ages. God I love Charlie Austin. Thought adomah looked lively too for 15 mins.

Get in Rangers! Great win & performance. Austin ๐! Thought Ball and Carroll were decent in the middle of the park, Dykes much better, Bonne scoring, Albert with a lovely assist. All very odd. Ursss #qpr

Looked a totally different proposition with Austin. High levels of concern here when subbed, but ended up not being an issue. Clean sheet, and a sprinkling of dogged shithousery about that performance. Lovely #QPR #COYRS

Thatโs how you do it ๐ Austinโs a born goalscorer, but how good was the link-up play with Dykes? We were also fairly solid defensively today so well done Warbuton for that๐ Barbet, Dickie, Cameron, Dieng all excellent โช๏ธ๐ต #COYRs

Absolutely great result. Austin has brought so much confidence to that team clearly. Dykes looked a totally different player. He was great! Austinโs hold up play was top notch. Dickie was great. Bright was great. Uncle Albs when he came on was great! ๐๐๐โช๏ธ๐ต
