Bristol Rovers are closing in on a deal to sign both Aarons Collins and Harvey Saunders according to a recent report from Bristol Live.
Both players have caught the eye with some strong performances in recent seasons for their respective clubs in both League One and League Two.
Collins has been with Forest Green Rovers since 2019, and has been a regular in their team in recent years. The 24-year-old chipped in with 11 goals and seven assists for the fourth tier side this term, who caught the eye with a number of impressive showings.
Despite Collins’ best efforts, Forest Green narrowly missed out on promotion into League One, after being beaten by Newport County in extra time in their play-off semi-final.
Whilst Saunders is a player that Bristol Rovers boss Joey Barton will know well, having worked with him whilst in charge of the Cod Army.
He made 29 appearances for Fleetwood Town last season, and scored eight goals, whilst also being on hand to provide one assist for his team-mates, as they finished 15th in the League One table.
But Fleetwood announced that he’d be leaving the club when his contract expired at the end of the month, and it seems as though he’ll be signing for Bristol Rovers, who will be looking to win promotion back into League One at the first time of asking this term, after being relegated from the third tier last season.

This is a statement of intent from Bristol Rovers.
I was really impressed with both Collins and Saunders’ performances during the 2020/21 season, and they could turn out to be excellent additions to Joey Barton’s side.
It’s good to see the club’s owners getting behind the Bristol Rovers boss, and he’ll be hoping that they can hit the ground running heading into the new league campaign, which is set to get underway in August.
They’re in with a great chance of winning promotion straight back into League One at the first time of asking with signings like this.
