Matty Taylor has decided to reject offers from elsewhere and sign a new contract with newly-promoted Bristol Rovers, the club have confirmed on their official website.
The 26-year-old has become one of the most sought after strikers outside of the Championship this summer after firing the Gas to consecutive promotions, scoring 45 league goals in just 91 appearances.
Taylor has been linked with a number of clubs this summer as a result of his goalscoring exploits, most notably Oxford United and Championship duo Leeds United and Wigan Athletic.
However, the striker has now committed his future to Darrell Clarke’s side after taking some time to consider his options as he believes that he is currently better suited at the Memorial Ground.
While the length of the contract has not been disclosed, it will see Taylor remain with the club for at least another season and, according to the Bristol Post, will double the hitman’s previous wage.
