Mark Little signed for Bristol Rovers in the summer from fellow League One side Bolton Wanderers, not long placed into administration and already suffering from a -12 point deduction at the start of the season.

The 31-year-old has made nine appearances for the Gas first team this season and scored his first goal on Wednesday night against Swindon Town in the EFL Trophy to secure a 1-0 win.

Bolton suffered relegation from the Championship last season amid their woes behind the scenes, but Little is determined to put that period of his career behind him after returning to living in Bristol following a three-year spell with Rovers' rivals Bristol City.

Little said via the Bristol Post: "It's fantastic to be at a proper club again.

"I love it here. I've lived all over the country and Bristol is by far my favourite city and it's great to be here.

"That (Bolton) was shambolic. I've never seen anything like it. They're still putting out now into the media that everything is sorted - it's not.

"We're still owed money. I'm still in constant contact trying to find out what is going on.

"I'm trying my hardest to leave that behind by coming back to Bristol, getting settled, getting a regular place in the team and being a successful team."

The experienced full-back made 35 appearances across two seasons for the former Premier League outfit before finding his way back to Bristol and becoming a part of Graham Coughlan's squad.

Across his three seasons at Ashton Gate, the defender made 102 appearances across two competitions and was much loved by the Bristol City supporters during his stint in south Bristol.

Bolton are currently on -2 points and have won their past two games, but they are still 15 points away from safety.

The Verdict

Any senior player on the books of Bolton has suffered over the last few months, and Little has a right to be vocal on what Bolton has been like as a club lately.

The defender has seen first-hand just what Bolton was like during the club's darkest days, and it appears that he personally hasn't sorted out his issues with the club.
