Han-Noah Massengo joined Bristol City from AS Monaco last summer.

The 18-year-old, in his first season in English football, has earned high-praise from those who've watched him. He's a dynamic midfielder who can play a number of roles, and has so far racked up 23 Championship appearances for his new club.

Speaking to the media ahead of his side's weekend trip to Blackburn Rovers, Massengo outlined his relationship with the Robins boss:

"I've got a really good relationship with him. I'm enjoying speaking with him, we speak a lot together on how I can improve, how I can keep getting better."

Last season, Massengo was playing for Monaco in Ligue 1 and for the first-half of the season worked under ex-Arsenal and France forward Thierry Henry.

Massengo was asked how he compares to ex-Yeovil Town and Bristol City midfielder Johnson, and surprisingly, the Frenchman believes there's not much between the two:

"It's quite the similar because they've both got good contact with players, they know the way they want to play. They say what they think - it's quite similar."

This season has been one of ups and downs for Bristol City fans but overall, sitting in 7th-place of the Championship table and with only one point between them and Preston in 6th, the season has been a success so far.

Inevitably, whether or not Bristol City finish inside the top-six will determine how good their season has been, and this weekend they face another uphill battle against a Blackburn side who've proved formidable at Ewood Park this season, who are also looking to snatch a late spot in the top-six.

The verdict

People forget that Massengo is only 18-years-old, and that's a credit to him because he plays and speaks with maturity beyond his age. But we'll have to take his word on the comparisons between Johnson and Henry - the Bristolian will take them compliments all day.
