The Championship fixture list was released today, and as ever in this division, there are some corkers lined up.

We've barely seen any signings yet, and with the clubs yet to even go back to pre-season training, it is hard to predict how next season will line up.

There are obviously six new teams in the Championship, which always adds a bit of taste, especially for those going up from League One.

Below is a list of the first round of Championship fixtures:

To get you excited for the start of the season - which begins of the weekend of August 3 - we've asked some of the FLW reporters what the game of the first round is...

Kealan Hughes

"It is always interesting to see how a newly promoted side fairs and Luton's opening fixture was always going to be one to watch out for because they are an entertaining side and haven't played in the division since 2007.

"The fact that they are up against Middlesbrough really makes it one to watch. Boro should be a new look side now that Woodgate has replaced Pulis. It will be interesting to get an insight into how Woodgate sets-up and the kind of philosophy he has installed.

"Another game which deserves a mention is Barnsley vs Fulham. Both teams are very entertaining and attack minded, although Fulham's team could look very different by the time August rolls around.

"Both teams were a division apart last season but the game should be a close affair, and Barnsley could upset the odds."

Ned Holmes

"The EFL have saved the best until last for the opening weekend of the Championship and Leeds United’s visit to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City is the best fixture of the weekend. "There has been just two draws in the last 17 matches between the two sides and the fixture hasn’t produced a goalless game in 40 years. "Expectation will be high for Marco Bielsa's side this season and he will be looking to get off to the best possible start. "In the opposing dugout, Lee Johnson and the Robins will still be hurting after falling just short of the play-offs last season and could make a real statement of intent with a victory. "Leeds fans didn’t like the dig the City boss made following the fixture announcement, which should raise the temperature of the affair slightly." George Harbey "I am really excited to seeing Luton vs Middlesbrough on the opening day of the season. "A full house at Kenilworth Road should make up for a great atmosphere, and Luton will be looking to show everyone what they are all about after two fantastic seasons on the bounce. "I think Woodgate is a shrewd appointment for Middlesbrough too, and I am excited to see how they play under his stewardship. "It should be a very good game indeed!" Toby Wilding "For me I think it has to be Bristol City vs Leeds. "These are two sides who given their performances last season, will be aiming for a top six spot at the very least next season, and both will be keen to put an early marker down when they meet at Ashton Gate on the opening Sunday of the season. "Both sides played some excellent football at times last season, and it will be fascinating to see what they can come up right from the word go, with both side's styles of play suggesting this could well be an eventful encounter. "There are plenty of eye catching encounters with which to open the Championship season this year, but the ambitions of these two sides next year means this one just about takes it for me."
