Bristol City are reportedly facing significant uncertainty ahead of the visit of Derby County on Saturday, with more than 10 players and staff likely to be missing and their training ground closed until Thursday.

The Robins will have been hoping to continue their recent form when they welcome bottom-of-the-table Derby to Ashton Gate on the weekend but it seems off-field issues could hinder their chances.

According to a report from The Telegraph, more than 10 Robins players and staff will be missing due to government medical guidelines.

It is understood that the South West club have also closed their training ground following advice to do so from the EFL.

Saturday's game will see Derby's interim coaching staff, which includes Wayne Rooney, Liam Rosenior, Jason Walker, and Shay Given, take charge for the first time.

Phillip Cocu left the club over the weekend and the interim team are set to take charge while the search for a new manager, which could reportedly take up to a fortnight, goes on.

It's an exciting time for the Rams, with Sheikh Khaled's takeover of the club expected to be completed this week.

Did these 17 Derby County players ever actually score a league goal for the club?

The Verdict

This looks as though it could have a huge detrimental impact on the Robins' chances on Saturday, and potentially beyond that.

In the current global circumstances, the risk of this sort of situation is always around for clubs and it appears the Robins have fallen foul of it.

You'd hope that they're still able to field a strong side, particularly as the game is our first look at Derby's interim coaching staff.
