Bristol City will be looking to challenge higher up the Championship standings next term, whilst under the management of Nigel Pearson.

The Robins struggled for a positive run of results in the second-half of the 2020/21 campaign, as they finished 19th in the table last term.

It's been a busy summer at Ashton Gate, with players heading for the exit door when their contracts with the club reached a conclusion.

The likes of Jamie Paterson, Marley Watkins and Adrian Mariappa are among those to depart, Pearson has wasted no time in adding to his squad during the summer transfer window.

Matty James, Andy King and Rob Atkinson arrived at Ashton Gate, as Pearson looks to push his side further up the Championship next term.

The Robins are set to take on newly-promoted Blackpool in their opening match of the 2021/22 campaign, in what could be a tricky test up against the Tangerines.

We take a look at the latest Bristol City transfer rumours from the last week, as they edge closer to their new league campaign getting underway in under a month's time.

Midfielder on trial with League One club

Bristol City youngster Callum Morton is currently on trial with League One side MK Dons over a potential move to the third-tier side this summer.

Morton featured for MK Dons in a pre-season friendly against Bristol City on Sunday, and it remains to be seen as to whether Russell Martin's side will make a formal move to land his signature in the near future.

He spent last year's campaign on loan with Lincoln City, but his efforts weren't enough as they missed out on promotion into the Championship after a defeat to Blackpool in the League One play-off final.

Robins keen on deal to sign winger

Bristol City are reportedly rivalling Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest to a potential deal for PSG youngster Junior Dina Ebimbe, according to Foot Mercato.

The winger spent some of last year's campaign on loan with French side Dijon, but struggled to make a notable impact with them, before returning to PSG.

Former Robins man training with Middlesbrough

Jamie Paterson made 156 appearances in total for Bristol City, before leaving the club in the summer, as his contract with the Robins reached a conclusion.

Paterson is yet to officially sign for another club ahead of the new season, but has been training with Neil Warnock's Middlesbrough side in their pre-season camp in Cornwall.
