Bristol City have confirmed today on their Twitter account that Zak Vyner has signed a new contract with them.

The Robins have seen a couple of key men leave this week.

First of all, Aden Flint moved to Middlesbrough as they look to get promoted from the Championship in the coming season.

Then, yesterday, Bobby Reid left the club for Cardiff City as they look to stay in the Premier League in 2018/19.

Certainly, then, it's not been the most positive week for the club but they have made some money and they now at least have a young player committing his future to the Ashton Gate outfit:

The 21-year-old will be looking to now kick on and get more minutes for the Robins and he's certainly at the right club for that.

Lee Johnson will always play young players if he feels that they are good enough and with this new deal there is evident belief that Vyner can become the latest to really start excelling at the club.

The Verdict

Vyner is a player the Robins will be pleased that they are keeping hold of.

Losing Reid and Flint this week will obviously come as a blow but the Robins are strong at churning out new sides with younger players and they'll hope Vyner can become a part of that process increasingly.
