Bristol City earned their first win of 2018 at the weekend as they got their play-off hopes back on track against QPR.

The men from Ashton Gate had embarked on a bit of a poor patch as they went out of the FA Cup and saw their league form suffer as they tried to juggle their EFL Cup semi final with Manchester City.

Since the madness of that has died down, though, the Robins have managed to get three points on the board against the Rs and now the plan will be to crack on for the rest of the campaign.

However, an early setback to that has been dealt with the FA rejecting the appeal that the club lodged after Nathan Baker was sent off during the game at the weekend - as per the club's official site.

He was shown red for a tackle on QPR's Josh Scowen and despite the Robins looking to get the ban overturned, the Football Association has decided that the ban is going to stay as it is.

Baker will miss three games, then, and the Robins will hope that that doesn't mean they go on another barren run as we head towards the sharp end of the campaign.
