Bristol City ace Joe Bryan has said that the club can’t rely on other teams around them doing favours and that the Robins must focus on picking up their own wins, according to The Bristol Post.
Bristol City climbed out of the relegation zone last weekend after a 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic but cast a keen eye over the midweek games involving Blackburn and Wolves, who are direct relegation candidates.
Wolves grabbed two late goals to build up a four point gap over Bristol City whilst Blackburn scored a late equaliser to leapfrog Lee Johnson’s side, who have now returned to the bottom three.
“I do look at the league table to see where we are and what we need to do, but you cannot do that all the time, because you risk losing focus on what’s really important.
“Everyone had one eye on what was going on at Brentford and Fulham in the week and those results didn’t help us.
“We’re back in the bottom three, which is annoying, but it’s up to us to do something about it.
“Our focus has to be on the things we can affect and that means Huddersfield and the next game.
“We know we have to do it for ourselves and we must not allow ourselves to be deflected by what is happening elsewhere.”
“Everyone will have played 46 games by the end of the season and, while our fate is in our own hands, we’re better off not looking at other results.”
