Newly promoted Championship side Bristol City are interested in signing League One forward Jamie Murphy, according to the Daily Star.
The Sheffield United winger is also a target for Championship strugglers Brighton and Hove Albion, who are after his signature to help bolster their squad for a better season then they endured last year.
The 25-year-old had a terrific year in League One, which unfortunately ended in his side losing out on promotion via the play offs.
The versatile forward scored 11 times from the left wing, making seven assists.
He spent the season under Nigel Clough, who was sacked after failing to win the Blades promotion this year – Clough was then replaced by Nigel Adkins last week and it’s unknown what kind of fee he’d be charging for his man, or whether he’s ready to sell him at all.
Bristol City, on the other hand, were promoted and finished top of the tree in England’s third tier to return to the Championship.
Bristol City fans… What do you make of this news? Could Murphy help you in the Championship? How do you feel you will fare in the second tier next season? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
