Bristol City set to complete deal for exciting Italian youth international

Bristol City look set to complete the signing of Italian striker Diego De Girlamo, according to the Bristol Post.
The attacker, known better just as Diego, is set to sign a one year deal with the Robins following his release from Sheffield United this summer.
Diego burst onto the scene for the Blades under Danny Wilson when he was 17, where he was expected to then become a regular in the first team, but things have not quite panned out for him.
There were question marks over his attitude from former Blades manager Nigel Clough, and Diego seemed to be on his way out until Nigel Adkins took over and tied Diego down to a new deal.
However, he did not make a single appearance under Adkins as he once again struggled for form and fitness.
Bristol manager Lee Johnson is assisted by former Sheffield United youth academy manager John Pemberton and it appears it is Pemberton’s influence on signing Diego.
Bristol fans, what do you make of this news? Surprised? Sheffield United fans, what went wrong for Diego at your club? Give us your thoughts in the comments below!
