From the comments made by Bristol City’s chief operating officer Mark Ashton to BBC Sport, Bristol City remain in talks with Bournemouth about the potential transfer of Lee Tomlin.
The attacking midfielder’s current contract situation would see him remain at Bournemouth until 2018, however the likelihood that Tomlin will remain at Bournemouth beyond the summer looks slim.
The 27-year-old forward spent the second half of the season on loan at Bristol City, making 18 appearances for the Robins and scoring 6 times.
The former Peterborough and Middlesbrough man’s prolific loan spell has seen Tomlin become a fans’ favourite at Ashton Gate almost instantly and Lee Johnson has admitted his interest in signing the attacking midfielder permanently.
Tomlin’s performances have attracted attention from a number of Championship sides, including recently relegated Newcastle United who have shown their interest.
Mark Ashton’s comments reveal that there is ongoing negotiations between Bournemouth and Bristol City about the potential transfer of Lee Tomlin.
It is looking likely that Lee Tomlin will be on the move this summer with Bristol City currently in the driving seat but there is still a long way to go for the Robins to complete the transfer.
