Bristol City have rejected a bid of £6 million from Premier League side Brighton for defender Aden Flint.

The Robins and Flint were in action last night as they pushed Manchester City close in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg.

Flint, himself, impressed once more as he continues to perform well at the heart of the Robins' defence this season.

Naturally, then, he is attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League and Brighton have moved to show their hand with a significant bid - as per Sky Sports News on Twitter:

The Robins, though, have rejected the Seagulls' advance with just over seven exact days until Deadline Day next Wednesday.

It remains to be seen now, then, whether the South Coast club returns with an improved bid or if another club comes in to try and get the defender to sign but the Robins are bound to try and hold firm.

They still harbour a promotion dream this season and if they can keep Flint for the rest of the campaign they'll be doing that the world of good.

Letting him go, though, would surely send out the wrong message with such a small time left in the window to get in a good enough replacement.
