Bristol City are keen on Leeds United target Reece Brown, who is set to leave current club Forest Green Rovers when his contract expires this summer.

The 23-year-old scored 11 times and made 15 assists in League Two this season, meaning he was one of the outstanding performers in the league.

Therefore, with his contract up in the summer, Mark Cooper's side realistically knew they had little chance of keeping Brown even if they had beaten Tranmere in the play-off semi-final and gone on to secure promotion.

That defeat has left the attacking midfielder with a decision to make on his future now and Football Insider claim that the Robins have shown a serious interest along with their Championship rivals.

They had reported earlier in the week that the Whites had opened talks with Forest Green in the hope of agreeing a fee so that any deal didn't have to go to a tribunal, however that would be a very small amount.

Brown has Championship experience having come through the ranks at Birmingham City where he played 20 games over a few years before dropping down to the fourth-tier for regular football.

The Verdict

It's clear that Brown will be on the move and you have to say he deserves that after a superb individual campaign.

Given his contract status he will be a real bargain and would be a smart bit of business for Bristol City or Leeds.

Both adopt a style of play that should benefit the player, so it will be interesting to see where he moves and it will surely depend on where he feels he can get more minutes.
