Bristol City, Reading and Cardiff eyeing Birmingham City midfielder

Birmingham City winger David Cotterill has been linked with a switch to Championship rivals Bristol City, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 29-year-old made his 100th appearance for the Blues, but the recent acquisition of Kerim Frei from Besiktas could see Cotterill down the pecking order and out of the team.

Cardiff and Reading were both linked with £1 million moves for the Welsh international over the summer, but neither managed to make a move.

Cotterill was part of the Wales squad that performed so magnificently in the European Championships but failed to make an appearance whilst in France.

Bristol look the most likely to seal a deal for Cotterill today, as Reading signed another winger in Adrian Popa yesterday, whilst Cardiff don’t look financially ready to buy a player of his quality.

Birmingham have slid down the table in some style after losing manager Gary Rowett, and Gianfranco Zola will be hoping to gain his first win tonight against Reading.
