Championship side Bristol City are keen to reshuffle their playing squad next season, with the club looking to bring in around seven new players in the summer regardless of what division they are in.

Lee Johnson's men currently occupy the final play-off spot in the Championship table, with a host of names already being targeted by the Robins regardless of if they are in the Premier League or Championship next season.

Reports from Bristol Post claim that one of those players is Aston Villa's Scott Hogan - the 26-year old was a loan target for City in January, but the striker snubbed a move to Ashton Gate in favour of a switch to Sheffield United, where he has since scored one goal in five games for the Blades.

Middlesbrough's Britt Assombalonga is also believed to be of interest to City - the 26-year old was another player who was targeted by the Robins in January, having scored 12 goals in all competitions this term.

Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah is also set to be targeted on loan by the club, having played just under 10 minutes of Premier League football for the Gunners this season.

It is believed that the 19-year old, who scored two goals in his home debut for the club against Norwich City last term, will leave the Emirates Stadium on loan in the summer, if he doesn't get more opportunities in the first-team.

Finally, a goalkeeper is also said to be on Johnson's wish-list, with current shot-stopper Frank Fielding set to leave Ashton Gate at the end of the season when his contract expires.

QPR's Joe Lumley is being lined up as a replacement for Fielding, after a hugely impressive season for the West London side from a personal point of view.

The Verdict

Wow.

It seems that if Bristol City remain in the Championship next season, then Lee Johnson's men are certainly going to go for it.

In terms of Britt Assombalonga and Scott Hogan, the pair of them are magnificent strikers at Championship level on their day, although I dread to think how much they will cost in the summer.

Eddie Nketiah is a real talent, although would he receive regular game-time at Ashton Gate if the Robins sign both Assombalonga and Hogan? A goalkeeper, on the other hand, is a definite must for the Robins, and I actually really rate Lumley as a shot-stopper.
