Lee Johnson and Bristol City are hopeful to tie down talented midfielder Korey Smith, as they look to offer him a new deal, according to an HITC Sport report,
Since Smith moved to Bristol City from Oldham athletic, Bristol City has had success with both a Johnstone Paint Trophy victory and promotion to the Championship.
Korey Smith has been an integral component of Bristol City’s success in the centre of midfield and the performances of Korey Smith since Bristol City’s return to the Championship have been particularly impressive.
Having made 38 appearances in all competitions, with the only reason he didn’t feature for the entirety of the campaign being an ankle injury he sustained. he has been ever present for the Robins.
It appears that Lee Johnson is bringing out the best in Korey Smith which is reflective in his performances since Johnson’s arrival, and this has coincided with Bristol City’s second half of the season revival.
With Smith’s contract running down with only one year left and the attention of a host of Championship sides including Norwich City tracking him, Lee Johnson will be hopeful that he can tie down the midfielder and ward off any interest.
