Bristol City defender Tommy Rowe has stated that the Robins are expecting an intense encounter when they travel to Barnsley on Friday night.

This comes off the back of a rather hectic week for Bristol City where they picked up four points from three Championship games.

Lee Johnson's side lost to Luton before picking up four points at Ashton Gate against Wigan and Charlton.

The ambition of the Premier League is still there for all to see, and with the Robins sitting in 6th place there's hope around the club that this could be their year.

Rowe has stated that himself and the team want to make themselves proud in their performances.

Speaking to the Bristol City official website, Rowe said: “You know it’s going to be as intense. I’m not sure if the fans look at it like that but as a player that’s how it comes across and now we can hopefully take the atmosphere of the last three games, the energy that we’ve had and just put it all into it because it’s there for us now.

“We know where we can go with a win and we just want to more than ever, do ourselves proud of the work we’ve been putting in over the last three games so it’s going to be crucial.”

The Verdict

There's some really crucial games coming up for Bristol City, and one of them comes on Friday night and against Barnsley.

The Robins will be excited about the way the season is going, and with injured players slowly starting to come back into the squad, everyone at the club sees this as a perfect opportunity.

They have been up and around the top of the table for much of the season, and like Rowe said they need to make themselves proud by putting in the relevant work for the team and for the fans.
