Bristol City are set to cash in on striker Milan Djuric, with Italy his destination according to news breaking in Italy, reported via Bristol Live.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is apparently set for a switch to Serie B side Salernitana, with reports late on Monday night claiming that a deal has finally been agreed.

A fee of €700,000 has been reported (£625,000) and with the striker having just a year left on his current deal, Lee Johnson has allegedly sanctioned the move.

Djuric joined the Robins from Cesena in January 2017, but hasn't impressed during his short stay in the south west although his time has been disrupted by injuries.

The 28-year old has started just seven Championship matches, making a further 20 appearances from the bench. He's scored four times, the last of which came in April against Middlesbrough.

Djuric has plenty of Serie B experience, having previously appeared at that level for Cesena, Ascoli, Crotone, Trapani and Cittadella.

The verdict

I'm not sure there will be many tears flowing at Ashton Gate if this is true, Djuric hasn't settled with the Robins and certainly hasn't brought the goal threat many hoped he would.

A move back to a level that he's familiar with and that suits his style of play is perhaps best all round, especially as it adds to Johnson's transfer kitty for the upcoming days.
