Aaron Wilbraham, ex-Crystal Palace Championship play-off winner, has been given the full-time Bristol City captain’s armband, the club have confirmed.
The striker, that had the honour of wearing the band on a few occasions last season when Wade Elliot was unavailable or not on the pitch, has been given the responsibility of being an authority figure amongst the team.
At 35, Wilbraham certainly has enough experience to provide advice, structure and calm on the pitch.
He told the club: “I think everyone dreams of doing it and to get to at this late stage in my career makes me proud.
“The manager spoke to me about it at the start of pre-season and I was buzzing when I found out.”
The ex-Crystal Palace will no doubt be looking forward to leading the team, which he initially joined on a one-year contract in July 2014, out at Ashton Gate for the upcoming season as they attempt to cement themselves in the Championship after promotion from League One last season.
