Bristol City manager Lee Johnson would like to sign another forward before the transfer window closes.
In a report by the Bristol Post, the Robins manager has confirmed that although he is happy enough with his squad, he would indeed like to add another option up top to aid his side going into the season.
Bristol made an encouraging start to the Championship campaign when they hammered Barnsley on the opening day of the season, but were pegged back yesterday by Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City at St Andrews yesterday.
“We’ve got a bit of depth which – we’d like to maybe add one more to our attacking options, as far as a striker, if we can… that would be good. But we’ll see. Might be a loan, might be a permanent… We’ll see what we can do”. Johnson said.
Johnson and Bristol have spent most of the summer trying to fend of bids and interest in star defender Aden Flint, and the former Barnsley manager will be keen to get on with things on the pitch as he prepares his side for a trip to Brentford in midweek.
Bristol had a poor season last time out but have spent a fair bit in the transfer market this summer in the hope of firing themselves towards a top ten spot at minimum.
