According to a report by local media site The Bristol Post, Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori is being lined up for a potential loan move to Bristol City in January.
Bristol City’s form has dipped in recent weeks and as a result Lee Johnson might look to dip into the January transfer window and add some new faces to his squad.
While Johnson has previously stated that he’d like to sign a striker in January – to replace Jonathan Kodjia and add competition for Tammy Abraham – it is also clear that a defender is high on his wishlist.
Bristol City have managed just three shutouts so far this season and they’ll need to shore up defensively if they wish to win promotion.
This defender search seems to have led Bristol City to Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori, who could follow in the footsteps of teammate Tammy Abraham in moving to Ashton Gate on loan.
The 18-year-old has never had a loan spell away from Stamford Bridge and he would benefit from half a season of Championship football.
The Canada-born England under-20 international is predominantly a centre half but he can also play as a right back and this versatility would be a useful addition for Johnson’s side.
