Bristol City lining up a swoop for Celtic man to fix problem position

According to reports in Scotland, Celtic are set to let Saidy Janko leave the club for the Sky Bet Championship.

The Scottish Sun are reporting that Bristol City want to sign Saidy Janko from Celtic this summer.

Celtic are willing to let the defender go after he managed just eighteen games since arriving two years ago.

Janko spent last season on loan at Barnsley, where he only managed seven starts and a further seven outings from the bench in the Championship.

However, Bristol City remain keen to sign the former Manchester United academy product.

The 21-year-old plays predominantly as a right back, although he can operate as a winger as well, and Bristol City need to address that position.

The Robins have released Mark Little and sent Adam Matthews back to Sunderland after his loan spell expired, leaving a gap in the full back spot.

Lee Johnson is a fan of Saidy Janko and wants to complete a deal for him soon with Celtic willing to let him go.

The Switzerland under-21 international still has a contract until 2019 with the Scottish Premiership giants and they will be demanding a six figure transfer fee for the youngster.

Saidy Janko will probably be keen on the move after seeing his progress grind to a halt over the last couple of season with Celtic.
