Championship play-off hopefuls Bristol City are keen on making a move for Motherwell midfielder Alex Rodriguez.

The 25-year-old has been in superb form for the Scottish side this term, and his performances have caught the eye of a host of teams, including the Robins and their manager Lee Johnson.

According to respected journalist Alan Nixon, Johnson is keen on adding the impressive Rodriguez to his squad over the summer, as he looks to make improvements on a team that is already in good shape and could well finish in the top six.

Rodriguez only signed for 'Well back in the summer of 2018 but has already done enough in his performances this term to suggest he can play at a higher level.

His previous spells in Romania and Portugal with the likes of Boavista have clearly served him well, and he has at times looked like a class above some of his teammates at Motherwell.

Rodriguez is not a complete unknown in the English game though, having spent some of his youth with Sunderland, before moving abroad to further his development.

Bristol themselves are looking for new players to improve a squad which is already full of talent, and Lee Johnson has clearly seen something in Rodriguez what he likes the look of as we head into what is set to be a busy summer transfer window once again in the Championship.

The Verdict

Rodriguez has been in fine form and it's little wonder people are casting their eye over him.

If he can get a move to England in the summer it would cap a great few years for the midfielder, and he'll no doubt be keen to impress if he is signed by the Robins.

He has the talent, it's just a case of stepping up to the plate if he does move into the Championship.
