Bristol City are expected to have a number of players back in their squad for a crucial last 12 games in the Championship.

The Robins have suffered a tricky run and will be delighted to see the squad grow in these vital weeks. Korey Smith could return from a knee injury in the next couple of weeks whilst Han-Noah Massengo didn't play on the weekend because he wasn't selected - no injury involved.

Marley Watkins is set to return to training over the next week, whilst Famara Diedhiou, Andreas Weimann and Adam Nagy are all still recovering from an illness despite featuring against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

One man who isn't due to return until April at the earliest is forward Benik Afobe. The striker suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the start of the campaign, and it looks as though he'll be lucky to play again this season.

The Verdict

A lot of players are coming back from injury, and it appears the squad is getting stronger and stronger as the Robins head into a crucial final 12 fixtures.

They need everyone fit and raring to go ahead of what could be a potentially club-defining promotion if Lee Johnson was able to pull it off.

It'll be interesting to say the least and there's no reason why they can't make the top six, they just need another good run.

It would be great to see Afobe fit for the play-offs, he deserves to have an opportunity to help the side in what could be crucial games.
